Brief Bio

Victor Marshall is a Senior Research Scientist in the UNC Institute on Aging, a Professor of Sociology, and an Adjunct Professor of Health Behavior and Health Education. He served as Director of the IOA from 1999-2009.

Areas of Interest in Aging

Health consequences of disrupted labor force participation of older workers; work and retirement of Canadian Forces veterans; international comparisons of workforce aging in the Information Technology sector; the life course, work and retirement in librarianship; and enhancing well-being in later life; social theory in aging and the life course; the life course, aging, and public policy.
