Brief Bio

Carri Casteel is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at UNC and an epidemiologist with the UNC Injury Prevention Research Center. She collaborated on an evaluation of an older adults falls prevention program with the California Department of Health Services, was the PI of a small grant from the UNC Carolina Population Center to examine the relationship between alcohol and home injury among older adults, and is currently the PI of CDC-funded grant to evaluate the dissemination of an older adult falls prevention program to senior centers. Dr. Casteel also works with Dr. Sue Blalock in the School of Pharmacy on a CDC-funded grant to examine the effectiveness of a medication management intervention on the risk of falls among older adults.
