Dr. Palmer is an Interim Co-Director of the UNC Institute on Aging, the Helen W. and Thomas L. Umphlet Distinguished Professor in Aging at the School of Nursing, a Faculty Liaison for the Interdisciplinary Certificate in Aging, and co-director of the Interdisciplinary Center for Aging Research: Uniting Scientists, funded by the John A. Hartford Foundation and RAND Corporation. Dr. Palmer offers a 3 credit elective, "Issues in Gerontological Research" in the spring semester.
