Brief Bio

Laura Hanson is an Associate Professor in the Center for Aging and Health and in the Division of Geriatric Medicine in the Department of Medicine. She is also a Faculty Liason for the Interdisciplinary Certificate in Aging. Dr. Hanson co-directs the UNC Palliative Care Program, a collaborative interdisciplinary program to promote clinical service, education and research in palliative care.

Areas of Interest in Aging

End-of-life care; palliative care; pain management; nursing home care; biomedical ethics.
