Brief Bio

Gordon DeFreise holds joint appointments as a Professor of Social Medicine, Dental Ecology, Epidemiology, and Health Policy and Administration. He is a former Director of the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research and the UNC Institute on Aging.

Areas of Interest in Aging

Factors which motivate and enable community-dwelling older adults to learn and practice self-care skills, particularly when faced with functional limitations.
