Parent Unit: School of Dentistry

Mission/Description

The Department of Dental Ecology concerns itself with understanding and enhancing the ability of dental health professionals to analyze and act upon environmental factors influencing oral health and the provision of dental services. Such concepts are focused on oral health by departmental activities in:
1. The sociology and psychology of dentistry
2. The epidemiology of oral conditions
3. Health policy and the planning of oral health services
4. The organization and delivery of care to patient populations with special needs

Aging-Specific Activities

The department includes a focus on Geriatric & Specialized Care Dentistry.
